Could Sharpsmarts/Medismarts reduce HAI risk?

The answer to whether Sharpsmarts or Medismart containers can reduce patient‐related healthcare associated Infections (HAI) is not easy to prove in an ‘evidence‐based” manner, i.e. by published scientific studies. In reviewing a large amount of information and evidence it can categorically be stated that the design and processing of Sharpsmarts supports HAI‐reduction protocols and principles and Sharpsmarts are not a source of HAI. However, it cannot be stated that Sharpsmarts “reduce patient‐related HAI”.
