Innovation is the practical implementation of new ideas, methods, products or services that create value, improve efficiency, or solve problems. As a growing business, we recognize that innovation is constantly happening around us – and we want to recognize our top innovators within the global organization.

You can submit a self-nomination or a peer-nomination. If submitting a nomination on behalf of someone else, you are accepting the role as the ‘sponsor’ for this nominee, and may be contacted for more information. If you nominate someone for the Forever Forward Innovation Award, your name is thrown in a hat for a $3,000 USD* gift card.

Prize Outline

Please note that prizes do not stack, each round’s award replaces the previous prize unless otherwise specified. All winning ideas that place in the Top 40 will be reviewed for potential global rollout with executive sponsorship and support. In addition, all Top 40 winners will receive a Daniels Innovation Award badge to showcase on their LinkedIn profiles or in their email signatures.

ROUND # 1

40 x Winners across specific categories – $1500 each, finalist plaque + global story spotlights on SharePoint hub and social media promotion
ROUND # 2

Global Voting Round to get to “top 20”, ensure minimum country representation – trophy + $3000 each + top 3 country invite to the 40 Years Event with all travel and accommodation expenses paid + potential to be short-selected for an innovation lab to see your ideas get funded and expanded
ROUND # 3

Global Voting Round to get to 4 x Global Finalists (1 per country) – trophy + invite to attend and present at the 40 years event + 1 x week of additional annual leave + $8,000 travel wallet for holiday to location of your choice + potential to be short-selected for an innovation lab to see your ideas get funded and expanded
ROUND # 4

1 x Global winner – trophy + 2 x weeks of additional annual leave + $14,000 travel wallet for holiday to location of your choice + potential to be short-selected for an innovation lab to see your ideas get funded and expanded

INTAKE # 0 : Form Submission (unlimited submissions) – either self-nominated or peer-nominated. Further examination may be required in the review process to validate submissions.

ROUND # 1 : Our Voting Committee will be narrowing submissions down to a top 40 globally (ensuring there is a minimum 1 per country). Once top 40 are selected, you will be required to submit a video talking us through your innovation. This can be shot on an iPhone. A $2k bonus prize will be given to the person with the most shares and comments on social media once the video has been vetted and provided back to the nominee and their sponsor, and they will also be considered for a $3k ‘best storytelling award’ prize for their video production.

ROUND # 2 : We will have a voting round globally to narrow the submissions down to a top 20 finalists. The 40 submission videos may be shown on social media and our internal SharePoint hub for broader business visibility.

ROUND # 3 : We will have a global voting round to narrow the submissions down to 4 global winners.

ROUND # 4 : Final decision = blended score (panel + impact + public vote), with CEO commentary or endorsement.
The person being nominated must be actively employed by one of the Daniels global group of companies at the time finalists are selected and announced.

The innovation must be something that has been innovated within the business (not outside the business), that has had a direct impact on your work, your peers, your customers or the business at large.

The innovation must have taken place within the last 4 years.

If self-nominating yourself, you provide permission for us to reach out to the person you nominate as your sponsor for additional information if required.

If self-nominating yourself, you provide permission for us to share your submission video with your sponsor.

If you are a sponsor nominating someone else, we reserve the right to contact the nominee to verify that they are happy for you to be their sponsor, and verify that they are comfortable for their innovation to be recommended for an award.

If you are a sponsor nominating someone else, you provide permission for us to reach out to you for additional information if required.

For Round 2, 3 and 4 finalists, travel to a 40 year event will be within the country in which you work.

We reserve the right to remove someone’s submission from the running in the event of gross misconduct.

If there are multiple submissions for the same innovation, only one can be selected in the top 40.

Can teams apply?

Yes, they can.

If a team applies, how are rewards split?

Financial Rewards will be split across the team. Any travel for Round 2, 3, and 4 winners will be limited to one individual unless the committee warrants an exception should be made.

Is this competition only for Daniels employees?

The competition entry is eligible for all personnel currently employed by Daniels Health USA, Daniels Health CA, Sharpsmart UK, Daniels International Pty Ltd, Daniels Property Group, Daniels Manufacturing, MCF Environmental, HWE Canada, HWE USA, Rx Destroyer, ECS Cares and Hazport.

Can I submit more than one nomination?

Yes. There is no limit to the number of nominations you can submit, whether nominating yourself or a colleague.

Can I nominate someone from another country or business unit?

Yes. Nominations are open across the global organization, and cross-functional or cross-country innovations are encouraged.

What happens after I submit a nomination?

All submissions will be reviewed by the Voting Committee during the initial selection process. The committee will determine the Top 40 finalists globally, ensuring minimum country representation.

What criteria will the judges consider?

The committee will consider factors such as originality, scalability, measurable impact, implementation difficulty, and ownership.
