Frequently Asked Questions

Who is responsible for biohazard waste once it leaves a facility?

The generating facility is responsible. Canadian law places liability on the waste generator from the moment waste is created through to final disposal, and signing a contract with a hauler does not transfer it. If waste is mishandled downstream, the facility that produced it is still accountable. Daniels Health runs its own drivers, trucks, and treatment plants across Canada, which keeps the chain of custody unbroken.
